Each activity improves some areas of the brain. For example, muscular tonus and voluntary reflexes do not depend by the amount of strength and muscle mass you have. They depend by how the brain is trained in this. You get to play fast paced action-reaction games, and you will improve you brain reflexes, regarding solutions and instant action performed by the muscles.

Puzzles help you with the visual part of your brain, where you corelate everything you see to an imaginary object stored in your memory, and help you see the big picture, so you can tell where each part fits. Reading improves your intelect and thus your ability to comunicate and develop high standard phrases and elevated language and vocabulary. Chess and Rubik’s Cube help you master your strategema, allowing you to think steps way in front of you on-going actions, extending your understanding of mind logics. Strategy games are also good delevoping your skills, for it will boost the rate at which you think each situation, and act properly.

Doing al the above things doesn’t make you a geek. On the contrary, you get to be a respectable intelligent man, with an upper hand in cultural and rationality map. You get praised and you get the prize for being the first to answer in everything you do.
